We’ve had this little duck planter for years. Every spring, we put a plant in it which withers and dies in the summer heat. No matter how drought-tolerant, no matter how carefully we water it, no matter how much the nursery says it thrives on heat, by July whatever is in this novelty flowerpot is quite dead.
This year the grocery had succulents on sale, so I got some for the heck of it and put one in the duck pot. It has not only survived, but is putting out offsets. I wish I saved the label because I would love to order a dozen dozen (yes, 144) of them. This plant is can’t be rare if they’re selling it in front of a supermarket, but I still have no idea what is.
